More from SPCS Class of 1963 Reunion

More postings brought over here from the Facebook page for those of you who eschew Facebook. (Some days, I don't blame ya!)

Many people brought their mimeographed copies of the "Cathedral Telstar" with them to the reunion. Cindy Kamphaus graciously loaned me her copy to scan and share with you. Remember how great those purple pages smelled?!!

Cindy Kamphaus' "Good Posture" award from 1961. (Nowadays, EVERYBODY in the class would get one, right?)

Mary Pat Horan Corder commented: "Of course, we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by making them think they were slouching."

Is the "Bishop's Relief Fund" the place where we could "save pagan babies"?? (Good Lord...)

Here's Cindy's 8th grade photo:

And here is MY 8th grade photo. I got in trouble for this black-and-white checked dress on photo day, a hand-me-down from my tall cousin in Montrose, CO.  Sr. Mary Josephine said that it was "too low cut" and made me have the photos retaken with my red cardigan over the dress backwards.  My Mom essentially said "What the...?" when she saw the choices of poses and we purchased THIS pose.  Sans the sweater.

Here's Marie-Therese Caldwell's 8th grade photo:

Here's a St. Dominic Savio Club membership certificate. Apparently, the club was to provide a good role model for young Catholic boys.  The St. Maria Goretti Society was the girl's role model.

There was a song that we sang as members of both of these clubs.  Here's a link to a YouTube rendition of that rousing song! http://youtu.be/c9zXF0z_py4

Sister Mary Jacinta was a 7th grade teacher for some of us, and then as 8th grade teacher for some of us.  She taught us Spanish from this book:

Thanks, Linda Conley, for the loan of the book!!

Here's a photo of Sister Mary Jacinta in later years. In both photos, she's the one front and center.

We all loved to sing the Mary hymns from the Laudate.  Many people brought their Laudates to the reunion. Here's a couple of MY favorite songs:

And the Baltimore Catechism. Question. Answer. Question. Answer. No deviation. Learn this stuff and become a good Catholic, eh?
